WESTMARK WINS VIREB EXCELLENCE AWARD FOR AFFORDABLE HOUSING IN NANAIMO, BC
Westmark is thrilled to announce that our project – Hammond Bay Residences – won the Excellence Award for “Affordable Housing” in the 17th Annual Commercial Building Awards hosted by the Vancouver Island Real Estate Board (VIREB).
The CBAs are an annual celebration that recognizes the very best in commercial construction and design across Vancouver Island. Chosen by a panel of industry leaders, commercial, industrial, institutional or multi-family development projects are nominated across a variety of categories.
Our team is humbled to be recognized for our general contracting work on our affordable housing project – Hammond Bay Residences. A partnership between Westmark, BC Housing, and Ballenas Housing Society, this 53-unit apartment building provides affordable homes for seniors, small families, and persons with disabilities. Located at 6010 Hammond Bay Road in Nanaimo, all units have full kitchens, washrooms featuring walk-in showers, and personal balconies, with shared laundry facilities available across all four floors. Water is included in the rent, and each unit is metered individually for hydro. Residents also enjoy complimentary phone, internet, and cable services for a limited period.
