Supporting The Hospital Activity Book for Children

At Westmark, our mission goes beyond construction. It’s about building stronger communities, fostering connections, and making a difference in people’s lives. One of the initiatives closest to our hearts is our sponsorship with The Hospital Activity Book for Children, an organization dedicated to bringing joy and comfort to children facing tough times in hospitals and beyond.

For over 25 years, The Hospital Activity Book for Children has provided over 200 million activity books to children in hospitals, medical service units, pediatric centres, victim service units, shelters, and food banks across Canada. These books are designed for professionals and parents to talk with children about their thoughts, fears, and worries. From simple dot-to-dot and colouring pages to intricate puzzles, the activities in these books cater to a wide range of ages, ensuring every child finds something enjoyable. More than just entertainment, they provide a distraction and comfort to children who are spending time in hospitals, health centers, and other facilities.

Recently, the demand for these books has surged, due to the increased number of children in hospitals with illnesses like RSV, Flu, and Covid, and those battling life-threatening diseases. In these times, the activity books have become even more valuable, providing a safe and personal escape for the children, and allowing them to enjoy moments of joy and normalcy.
