Over $35,000 Raised in the 2020 Hike For Hospice

The Nanaimo Community Hospice Society is a non-profit, charitable organization that offers compassionate support and education to our community and to those living with advanced illness, dying and bereavement. Established in 1979, the Nanaimo Community Hospice has been serving the Nanaimo community for 38 years and was the first community-based hospice established in Canada. Hospice programs are free and include one-to-one grief support, professional counselling, bereavement group support, complementary therapies, volunteer-led programs, a child and youth program, palliative and caregiver support, and so much more.

To ensure families receive the care and support they need, the Nanaimo Hospice relies on the generous support of volunteers and donors to run their programs. The Hike for Hospice is an annual event held each year that raises funds to help enhance and expand Hospice services in our own community.
