Westmark Construction Celebrates its 30th Birthday!
Westmark Construction is turning 30! We’ve come a long way over the years, beginning when Westmark president Chris Lundy founded the company back in 1988. Since then, we’ve grown to become one of the premier construction management companies on Central Vancouver Island.
During this time, we’ve developed amazing relationships with our partners, tradespeople, suppliers, and clients. We’ve gotten to be a part of many exciting, incredible projects that have challenged us to think outside the box and develop our skills. And, our service offering keeps on expanding as we learn and grow. We can now offer commercial building and renovation services, construction of multifamily townhomes and apartments, and designing and project managing amazing custom homes.

Notable Projects
Commercial Construction & Mixed Use Development
Pacific Station
One of our biggest projects to date, and certainly one of the most memorable, is the mixed-use development at Pacific Station, in which Westmark led the construction of beautiful, contemporary townhomes. This real estate development project in North Nanaimo consists of commercial and residential buildings totalling a combined 100,000 square feet! Working on Pacific Station was crucial in putting Westmark Construction on the map and allowed us to work with many amazing, skilled professionals.
This project earned Westmark 4 awards, as we received an Award of Merit – Phase 1 at the 2014 VIREB Commercial Building Awards, an Honourable Mention – Phase 2 at the 2015 VIREB Commercial Building Awards, the 2017 VIREB Award of Excellence for Townhouse, and a 2018 VIREB Award of Merit for Phase 3 – Building A and B!

Custom Home Building & Multi-Family Development
The Ridge
Developed in partnership with Century Group and architect Peter Dandyk, The Ridge is a real estate development project in North Nanaimo designed to let the beauty of the environment take centre-stage. Natural building materials were used to save energy and minimize maintenance. The interior of the townhomes feature vaulted 9’ ceilings, oak hardwood floors in main living areas, and low flow fixtures. Leading to the exterior are glass doors in the living rooms that open up into gorgeous outdoor living spaces. This development earned Built Green Gold Status for the efforts put into preserving the natural environment and building efficient, sustainable housing.
For this project, Westmark Construction received an Honourable Mention Award at the 2014 VIREB Commercial Building Awards!

Full-Scale Home Renovation
North Nanaimo Waterfront Home Renovation
This is one of our most memorable home remodeling projects. We had the pleasure of working with interior designer RG Design Studio on the full renovation of this North Nanaimo home. We are incredibly proud of how the project turned out and how we could turn the homeowner’s plans, lifestyle, and dreams into reality. The final product is an excellent example of bright, open, modern home design.
This renovation was amazing for exposure! It received an HGTV Feature in August 2017, showcasing how Westmark and RG Design were able to capture the visions of the homeowners with a modern design. Additionally, the bathroom remodelling was featured three times on Houzz! Once as Room of the Day in July 2017, and ranked the #3 Transformation and as a Top Example of Walnut Wood Use in April 2018.

Commercial Renovation
Ramsay Lampman Rhodes
Located in Downtown Nanaimo, Ramsay Lampman Rhodes is a large-scale commercial remodelling project. We focused on giving it a professional, modern look while utilizing sustainable design techniques. A major challenge faced during this project was ensuring that the law office could still operate during the renovation. But, we were able to accommodate this and the office remained functioning at full capacity.
This project won an Award of Excellence for Office Renovation at the 2013 VIREB Commercial Building Awards, cementing its legacy in Westmark’s history.
