Originally built in the 1960s, the interior of this Vancouver Island waterfront home was disjointed and required a much-needed facelift.

Westmark collaborated with interior design firm RG Design Studio to remodel this family home with a contemporary and sophisticated redesign, better matching the family’s taste and lifestyle.

Phase 1 of this renovation project consisted of the entire home being stripped down and interior finishes removed. The galley-style kitchen was opened to the living room and dining areas to improve flow. The flooring was replaced with wide-plank, wire-brushed, white oak with warm undertones, for the perfect balance of texture and warmth. The countertops and backsplash were refreshed with durable quartz with marble-like veining, and the cabinetry was painted white & paired with with matte black hardware, for a minimalist aesthetic.

The walls and rooms were redesigned with a mix of warm and cool tones to provide a feeling of balance. Using the same layout for the kitchen, dining and living areas, a minimalist material palette featuring a mix of white oak paired with smoke-tone finishes, white walls, and matte black accents was used throughout the house.

The bathrooms received a luxurious update with a full range of modern amenities, including new faucet and cabinet hardware, in-floor heating and walk-in showers with rain showerheads.

Stay tuned for Phase 2 of this renovation project where Westmark will bring the exterior of this waterfront home in line with the modern, new interior!
